Simple answer is you communicate the same way as you would anyone else. Money is a funny thing and defined by several different perspectives. In our society, money is identified as the reward for success and often times it is from a business perspective, unfortunately it does not buy happiness. As a matter of fact, I can remember the first millionaires that I met. They seemed interesting and had all the trappings of success and frequently I think that was a major part of their personal identity.
This week I had a lunch meeting with a person that is likely a billionaire. As a matter of fact, this was the first time I knowingly met a billionaire. The conversation was nebulous and very abstract. It was odd from the perspective, he was out of date with reality and technology, however, he told me that he understood how a trillion dollars acted and worked in the vertical that he has had successes. Moreover, he told me that several people in business do not understand what and how a trillion dollars acts in a marketplace. He is focused on the counter-initiative nature of a multi-trillion dollar industry vertical and how the companies and competitors work in unconventional transactions.
My job, be a CFO and watch the upside and downside risks of one of his portfolio companies.
